The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants recently surveyed 700+ senior executives from financial services organisations, globally, about their digital progress. Just 32% met the criteria to be classified as digital leaders.
The world is changing. What is holding 68% of all financial services executives – and, therefore, the financial services industry – back?
Data is key…
According to IDC Financial Insights Research Director Bill Fearnley, it takes three steps to become a digital transformer:
1. Provide your customers with an omni-experience
2. Use the information you have about your customers to create competitive advantage
3. Grow revenues, better manage risk and compliance with connected services
Data is the secret ingredient in all three areas.
And while financial services organisations have always relied on data to make strategic decisions, drive their businesses and maintain a competitive edge, legacy tools are no longer sufficient to satisfy the growing demands being placed upon them by customers, and meet the competitive pressures they face from a host of new market challengers.
New technologies and moving to a cloud-based approach can help. But as cloud continues to accelerate digital transformation in finance – everything from data management and security to machine learning and artificial intelligence – knowing when to use it and which use cases are most appropriate is going to be key.
How, why and where are financial services’ most ‘digital’ leaders using cloud and what can you learn from them? We’re dedicating one unique evening to finding out.
