Digital transformation: choosing the right app migration strategy

Venue: The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe

Application migration is a critical part of any digital transformation strategy. Yet most businesses lack the technical resources, time and knowledge needed to efficiently migrate applications across technologies and platforms – resulting in increased business risk, disruption and downtime.

In fact, Forrester research suggests that while 80% of organisations are at least two years into their IT modernisation journey, almost 30% are experiencing complications that have stalled the migration process, with 40% reporting that migrations and operations are costing more than forecast.

Challenges are everywhere. Settling on a bulk migration approach for all applications upfront can be dangerous, while viewing migrations as a purely infrastructure-based exercise significantly reduces the chances of your project being successful. So how do you define a strategy that will work for you and your business?

Join Meet the Boss and Rackspace for an evening of dinner, discussion and discovery to find out why choosing the right migration strategy for each application is critical to your transformation efforts. Share best practices with other attendees, and compare implementation experiences. And hear from The British Heart Foundation, who will be discussing their approach to moving applications to Microsoft Azure with Rackspace, and the factors they took into consideration before migrating.
