Building Your Digital Transformation Roadmap
Venue: Michael Symon’s Roast
While “Digital Industrial” might just sound like a buzzword, to GE it has a very specific meaning. We believe all industrials need to leverage Digital to reshape their core capabilities.
The first area to leverage Digital is to create Digital Twins of your key assets and the critical processes that run through these assets. Digital Twins are continuously evolving, multi layered digital representations of the physical world.
Digital Twins give you realtime capabilities to adjust the way you work. With Digital Twins as the foundation, you can rapidly reconfigure your operations at a fraction of the previous time.
Next, you connect these Digital Twins to create a Digital Thread that’s woven through all of the information and data flows for how you design, build, and service your products.
Digital Twins and a Digital Thread provide you with much needed operational agility. Without this operational agility, we believe it’s virtually impossible to have business model agility.
And business model agility and innovation has to run through the plant floor – you have to be nimble and flexible to deal with whatever the market throws at you.
